A pedophile, who incited kids to perform sex acts online and asked two girls [aged 13 and 15] for nude photos and sex, has been spared prison because he’s a dwarf.
Judge Rhys Rowland claimed 26-year-old Bryan Anthony Bowen from Welshpool, Wales, was “small in stature and emotionally inadequate”; therefore, while what he had done was “very, very wrong”, he “would have a very hard time” if he was sent to prison.
Eventually, the judge handed Bowen a 28-week prison sentence, suspended for two years. He was also given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Prosecutor Anna Price told the court that Bowen sent the 15-year-old girl a message saying “do you want to f***?” She tried to block him but then received another message on her 16th birthday, saying: “I will f*** you for your birthday present.”
In a message he sent to the 13-year old, Bowen described her as “fit as f***” and asked her if she had a boyfriend.
After his arrest, Bowen told police he thought the girls were over 16 but later pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting a child to carry out a sex act. The judge told Bowen he had been “trying to live out some sort of fantasy.”
Bowen’s lawyer Dafydd Roberts urged the judge not to jail Bowen, as had learning difficulties, and requested for him to be given a rehabilitation order as a punishment for his acts. The order includes a three-month curfew between 9pm and 7am.
